Funny pages restaurant4/25/2023 You never for a second doubt his power and influence over every aspect of Hawthorn, whether it’s his kitchen staff, the food, or the dinner guests themselves. The Menu serves up some excellent performancesįiennes is a powerhouse as Chef Julian Slowik: commanding and brutal one moment, ominously soft-spoken and silently observing the next. But probably not in the way you – or the dinner guests – expect. He promises a unique, carefully crafted fine dining menu, and a one-of-a-kind dining experience for his Hawthorn guests. It’s all a bit culty… and of course, things only escalate from there.Īs the guests sit down to dinner, they’re greeted by Chef Julian Slowik (Fiennes). Othercide guide4/25/2023 Blademasters are high DPS melee units that hit like a truck, but have low Health and Armor. In Othercide your combat units are Daughters of the Red Mother, and they have 3 different Classes that you can choose from for each: Blademaster, Soulslinger, and Shieldbearer. You can also skip some Missions eventually, so that you can get to Bosses faster, really cutting out some of the repetitiveness that you might feel at the beginning of the game. Particularly because you can Resurrect Daughters, rarely, allowing you to bring back your favorites for more death and mayhem. But once you progress the game enough you begin to realize that you are meant to die a lot, and dying isn’t the end of the world. If this all sounds scary, it’s because it is, and it’s meant to be. If you go into a Mission and absolutely blow it, then that’s all there is to it, and you have to live (or die) by the results. And if you think you can just save scum your way through each Mission so that you can avoid this mechanic, well, the game auto-saves after each move in combat so there is no “reloading”. But in Othercide, the only way to heal a Daughter is by sacrificing another Daughter of the same level, so you will have to make hard choices about who to keep and who to sacrifice. In X-COM you typically had a large roster of units so that you could rotate to heal up injured ones and still carry on with Missions. This is not the only aspect that is Rogue-Like, however, as the game applies some interesting rules to your combat units (Daughters) as well. As you equip more and more of these, the game gets easier and easier, so the more times you face a Boss the stronger you become even if you initially fail. Things like more health for your units, a free Resurrection, or starting with powerful Memories that you can equip to your units. As you progress the game you will gain Rememberances, and these are passive buffs that affect your game state. This is where the Rogue-Like comes into play, as you are expected to die the first few times you face a Boss. The choice is yours, and it’s an important one…On the 7th day you will face the Boss of the Era whether you are prepared or not, and if you die the game will begin again. You might want to try easier Missions to keep your units from taking damage, or you might want to try harder Missions for more XP and more Vitae, which is a currency used to recruit units and equip Memories that enhance your Daughters’ capabilities. These are all pretty standard, and if you’ve played X-COM at all then you really need no explanation of what their objectives are.Įach mission has a random degree of difficulty, and you can choose easier or harder Missions. There are 3 different types of Missions: Rescue, Hunt and Survival. You will begin by choosing 1 Mission from a list of randomly populated Missions per day, for a total of 6 days. In Othercide you will begin in the first Era, and move from Era to Era facing different enemies and Bosses. Othercide’s Rogue-Like Progression System First, let’s take at how you progress in the game. It’s actually extremely clever, once you get the grasp of it, and gameplay that I initially thought was repetitive, eventually turned into something that I couldn’t stop playing. Othercide Gameplay & MechanicsĪs I mentioned, I’ve never seen an X-COM/Rogue-like before, and I’ll do my very best to explain how this works, or how it’s even possible rather. That said, it’s definitely unique, and there are brownie points to be awarded for that. If they were a bit more dark or menacing then, it would be more believable. I didn’t find it particularly interesting or compelling, not only because the animation wasn’t very well done, but because the antagonists almost look comical in nature and it was difficult to take them seriously. The story is cryptic and not initially clear, unraveling as you progress further into new Eras, and in my opinion is one of the weaker aspects of the game. This all plays out in a “Groundhog’s Day” like fashion, as your initial attempts to stop these events fail, and you travel through time to begin again and change the course of history. You will play as Daughters of the Red Mother, in an attempt to stop the Others from a series of events that will destroy life as we know it. Othercide takes place in an alternate timeline, beginning during the late 1800s and early 1900s.

Sf precipitation totals4/25/2023 Over 250 square miles of California were inundated by flood waters, causing 2 fatalities and injuring 50 people. This exacerbated runoff and river flooding, and scientists measured record peak river flows on the San Joauin, Sacramento, Feather, Cosumnes, and Toulumne Rivers. In total, the series of storms caused $1.6 billion in damages, destroying 20,000 homes and 1,500 businesses. Thirteen people died in the storms, 50,000 others were displaced by the flooding, and the state recorded $400 million in damages to property and infrastructure. The Napa River crested over 30 feet, flooding its banks at the 100-year mark. Bucks Lake in the Feather River Basin recorded almost 50 inches of rain, while Calistoga in Napa County measured 29 inches of rain. When this series of storms hit California from February 11-24 in 1986, scientists recorded huge rain totals. Screenshot from The Forgotten Flood 1986 Northern and Central California Flooding in Linda, California-about 40 minutes north of Sacramento-in February 1986 after an atmospheric river event. But when a strong AR builds and then stalls on land-as is predicted to happen this weekend and early next week-these events can cause mud slides, floods, and “catastrophic damage to life and property.” According to NOAA, 30-50 percent of the annual precipitation in the west coast states occurs in just a few AR Events. Most of them are weak, don’t cause damage, and simply provide beneficial rain or snow that is crucial to California water supply. Think of an atmospheric river as a fire hose that funnels moisture from the tropical Pacific towards California.Ītmospheric rivers come in many different shapes and sizes. Courtesy of the Weather Channel What is an atmospheric river?Īll of this precipitation is caused by an atmospheric river (AR), a narrow band of moisture that can transport huge amounts of water vapor towards the West Coast. Using data from the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration’s (NOAA) website on atmospheric rivers in California, here are four other winter storms that caused serious destruction.Īn atmospheric river is expected to bring heavy rain and mountain snow to California. The warmer series of storms that will pummel California on Saturday, Sunday, Tuesday, and Wednesday is forecasted to deliver enough precipitation to flood rivers and seriously disrupt travel. Much of the San Francisco area is already in a flash flood watch and Northern California is expected to receive upwards of 12 inches of rain and between 10-20 feet of snow (head over here for more on the forecast). There’s no guarantee that the upcoming series of storms will result in similar destruction, but the forecast doesn’t look good. Slated to hit California on Saturday with inches of rain and feet of snow, previous atmospheric river events have caused hundreds of millions of dollars in damage. The data is processed in javascript and visualized here using HTML, CSS and javascript and the open source Plotly javascript graphing library.A storm one meteorologist is calling “a once-in-10-year-event” is headed to California as we speak, all thanks to a phenomenon called an atmospheric river. You can hover (or click) on the graph to audit the data a little more clearly.ĭata is downloaded from the California Data Exchange Center website of the California Department of Water Resources using a python script. It also shows the present precipitation level and its percentile within the historical data for the day of the water year. You can see the current water year plotted on this to show how it compares to historical values. The second graph shows the percentiles of precipitation over the course of the historical water year, spreading out like a cone from the start of the water year (October 1). The top graph is a histogram of water year precipitation totals on the specified date (in blue) as well as the precipitation total for the current water year in red. The visualization consists of two primary graphs both of which show the range of historical values for precipitation.

It is almost certain that this is what the Lord meant, for he used the word "generation" in this very sense in the previous chapter, Matthew 23:33-36. "This people will not pass away till all these things take place." The Indestructible People And the second explanation involves a very forced and unnatural meaning for the word "this." The only other alternative is that the word "generation" means the Jewish people. Of course, if he meant the disciples' generation then his words have long ago been proven false. Each of these meanings has been suggested as a possible explanation of his words.īut the truth is, he meant neither of these. Did he refer to the generation to which he was speaking, i.e., the disciples and their contemporaries? Or did he perhaps mean the generation which would be alive when the events he predicted will begin to be fulfilled? If that is what he meant, he would have been saying that when these events begin they would be completed before the generation would pass. Many have wondered exactly what he meant by these words. "Truly, I say to you, this generation will not pass away till all these things take place." Then the Lord offers a second guarantee, contained in an often misunderstood statement in verse 34: When the world reaches the stage he describes, and the possibility of the coming of the Lawless One looms on the horizon of current affairs, then "he is near, at the very gates." We are now nearing the end of two thousand years of history and each man can judge for himself whether or not the world is approaching these events. History will confirm his predictions as it unfolds. The trend of world events is the guarantee that he has been telling the truth about the future. What the Lord means is that as history unfolds and it becomes apparent that the world is heading toward the conditions he describes, then men can be very sure that his coming is near. Luke tells us that he said this is not only about the fig tree, but also of "all the trees" (Luke 21:29). Of course that is perfectly true, but that is not what he is saying here. Some have misread this to mean that the fig tree is a symbol for the nation Israel and that the Lord means to say that when Israel shows signs of life as a nation that then the end is near. Everyone knows that when the trees begin to put forth their leaves it is an infallible indication that summer is near. It is another pattern from nature which illustrates the point he wishes to make. So also, when you see all these things, you know that he is near, at the very gates." "From the fig tree learn its lesson as soon as its branch becomes tender and puts forth its leaves, you know that sumer is near. Even Jesus anticipates a certain degree of honest doubt, for at this point in his discourse (verse 32) he breaks off his description of the last days to give three powerful guarantees that all he has said will actually come to pass. In fact it would be rather strange if you haven't. If you have, you are not the first one to do so. How can we be sure all this will happen? No doubt you have asked that more than once before now.

Cartridge airradar4/24/2023 If an aircraft matching the given description is currently in the air, the map will focus on that plane and you will be able to view all of the information available at this time. Instead of an airport, simply enter the corresponding flight number into the search box. Would you rather know where a specific plane is at a particular time because your relatives or friends are on board? Flightradar24 is also able to do this. If you set the map section to a radius of just a few kilometres around your location, you can actually track almost all of the civil aircraft in the sky above you. If your village, town or city does not appear on the map straight away, simply drag the map a little until it shows the correct area. To do this, enter the name into the search box and the map section on Flightradar24 will instantly be updated accordingly. If you’re interested in which planes are flying through your area at any particular moment, you can also search for specific airports. Targeted searches for airports and regions If you look closely, you can even recognise individual elements such as red wings or painted advertising strips from the ground. Many aircraft also have a picture for plane enthusiasts to enjoy. Scroll down a little further and you will find live information about the speed and altitude of the aircraft and the calculated arrival time at the destination airport. The airline, aircraft type and flight number are also displayed. This allows you to see, for example, which cities the plane is flying between. This opens an information window with a number of interesting details. To view the details for a particular aeroplane, click on the corresponding symbol on the Flightradar24 interactive map. You have now adjusted the map to track the particularly flight that you are interested in. To move the map section further North, South, East or West, click and hold on the map with the mouse or on the touch screen and drag it accordingly. When using Flightradar24 on a mobile device, you can zoom in the usual way using the touch screen. This reduces the number of aircraft displayed and immediately gives you a clearer view. Clicking on the ‘Magnify’ button, represented by a plus (+) icon, will make the section smaller. Typically a section of airspace covering a very broad region around your location is usually displayed first. In order to give yourself an overview and familiarise yourself with navigating around the map, you should first of all resize your chosen map area. Eventually you will be able to navigate through the programme confidently and without even thinking about it. There are nevertheless various tools for controlling the map, which you should familiarise yourself with step by step. Using Flightradar24 is comparatively simple. If you’re ready, you can start tracking flights straight away. The region displayed varies based on the map area setting. What initially looks like a disorderly and chaotic ant colony is actually the current air traffic over Europe, Germany or America. If all of these requirements are met, upon opening the website you will be greeted by a map area with a multitude of yellow symbols, each of which represents an aircraft in flight. The only requirement is having Java and Flash activated on your browser, as these are required in order to display the interactive map. The website can be viewed on a PC or laptop, or just as easily on a tablet or smartphone – a dedicated App is available for mobile devices. If you want to access the data provided by Flightradar24, then all that you require is an internet connection and a device on which to view the data. All recorded aircraft movements are visualised on a map. The result, however, is very similar, which is why the name Flightradar24 is ultimately still suitable. This means that machines which do not emit any signals can also be detected. Radar is usually used by airports and military reconnaissance facilities to actively detect flying objects. Nevertheless, the name is a little misleading, as the technology used has very little in common with a radar in the conventional sense of the word. The incoming information was uploaded directly to the internet and visualised on the Flightradar24 website. This granted them access to the unencrypted data sent by a large number of planes. In 2006, the founders of Flightradar24 began to set up ADS-B receivers in Europe, and later all over the world. Realising their plan sounds simple, but required a considerable amount of effort. |
